Drum Clip Thompson Air Soft

1975: "Greetings from Hong Kong!

The Chariot in Hong Kong! As incongruous as it may seem, the four French comedians, true stars in the hexagon-1970s, have shot a film in the British colony. Nanar turnip or to taste, the result is an UFO film when Hong Kong is the party!
Queen of England was removed. Stir in the highest echelons of British rule, he must find her before the matter gets out only! The intelligence chief of His Majesty can not count on anyone since the death of his best agent, and he therefore called his French counterpart. The latter, annoyed at having to help put the perfidious Albion Chariot on the case. This is the beginning of a fantastic and clumsy parody of James Bond, including a generic in the purest style 70s. The turning away of absurd situations then originally intended to leave the field open to the antics of Charlie Chaplin.
The film is produced by Christian Fechner, a regular collaborations with the Chariot and comedy franchouillard. He was responsible for what its humorous productions, "The cabbage soup" and "grunts go to war," "The race for the shallot" and "Walking in the shade," but also "The wing or thigh" or "Grandpa is resisting": in other words monuments Film French popular culture of the years 70-80! He wrote the screenplay with Yvan Chiffre, hitherto Supporting Actor and stuntman, who is also entrusted his directorial debut. The director and the producer does not skimp on the means: car crashes (with the inevitable cascade of Remy Julienne), explosions, collapse of the house, shot in London, Paris, Madrid and Hong Kong, everything going to give breadth to this pastiche.
"Good kisses Hong Kong" offers even Mickey Rooney, a real star schoolboy humor across the Atlantic (and now one of the few surviving silent film, with its 322 films ...). The actor plays the role of the frenzied lover who takes the queen. The rest of the cast also includes some surprises in agent Leon Zitrone not very secret, André Pousse, Jacques Marin, Philippe Castelli French side. Jeanne Manson or the very "British" David Tomlinson ("Mary Poppins," "The fiendish Dr. Fu Manchu plot of" ...) are also present, without forgetting the amazing Victor Israel. Finally, Bernard Lee and Lois Maxwell reprise their roles as M (the boss James Bond) and Miss Moneypenny, the time to make fun ...
Paul Clerc-Renaud, installed a long time in Hong Kong and now director of the group Fargo, visited the British colony during filming Film in 1975. "At that time, I was not working yet in connection with Pathe Overseas and Georges Bigot, recalls the businessman, but I came to Hong Kong for my company." Filming on site has not been easy, and "there were some twists that I never had the final word." Other sources tell that one of the Chinese partners was stabbed in the lobby of the Hilton or the young Chinese actress was allegedly abducted during a time by the mafia ... In stories where dark shadow of the plane Triads, but the French team has always been scrupulously kept away .
Filming continues for better or worse in Hong Kong, and delusional story continues. The Chariot found in a French maid, a lookalike of the Queen for the ideal replacement during his official visit to Hong Kong. They accompany him and the opportunity to walk the camera through the streets of Kowloon or near Aberdeen, at a time when he has not a single modern building where sampans still reign supreme. "For images of the official visit, there is a delightful anecdote!, Even welcomes Paul Clerc-Renaud. The company Pathe Overseas had made the pass for Pathé-News and filmed the actual visit to the real Queen, shortly before ... They have reused the images to incorporate the movie! ". Huguette Funfrock, the impersonator of Queen Lyon, does the rest ...
For scenes in Hong Kong, officiated as company Salon Films equipment supplier, under the patronage of Charles Wang Francophile. His brother, Fred adds, "it is rumored that the film was shown at the Queen Elizabeth. In any case, the administration of Buckingham had asked to have a copy, but there has never been back! "A film full of surprises until the end ... the very very end, when we learn in the generic Bézu (that of "single file" ...) was the press!
Rinaldi, Fechner (brother of producer), and Filipelli Sarrus seem to have had a good time there: "They were at the Mandarin ... again Paul Clerc-Renaud. With the troubles on the set, there was a period of relaxation. They were partying the night, and it was difficult to get out of bed! ". Jean Sarrus in his memoirs, reveals that the trip was mainly an opportunity to experience the legendary opium dens ... Fred Wang remembers: "The film has not been a big success in Hong Kong, but he been well received. " Today is a must nanar French movies of the 70s, and one of the few, perhaps the only, to have been turned away from France. And for lovers of Hong Kong is an unexpected visit by some strange guides.

Léon Rousset, witness the typhoon of 1874

While in Hong Kong after six years in office to Foochow, China, Professor Leon Rousset witnesses a terrible typhoon in the British colony. It tells the dreadful night of 22 to 23 September 1874.
Léon Rousset is a professor of science. In 1868 he was appointed to the arsenal at Foochow, newly created by the French at the request of the Chinese government. There remain six years in office, but little trip around. Its mission complete, decorated with the title of "Mandarin 4th in blue button," he decides to walk more carefully this country who are passionate about. He spends the year 1874 in this journey, bringing valuable chronic detailed accounts ... and a sincere admiration for Chinese civilization. In September 1874 he arrived in Hong Kong, the last stop before returning to Europe.
On 26 September he wrote to his father: "At a time when I write, Hong Kong is entirely desolate. A terrible typhoon, as none of the oldest inhabitants of the colony remember ever having seen it hit the night of 22 to 23. "Léon Rousset then begins the story of the drama. The passenger reported that on the morning of 22, the liner of Maritime Messaging "Ava" arrived in the port of Hong Kong with beautiful weather. His crew said he had suffered a terrible storm after Saigon, but the counting of the trunk offers enough distraction so that no one cares more. The teacher spends his day at the library and, on leaving, meeting "a fresh wind a little, but nothing [of] alarming."
few experienced sailors to seek advice safest anchorages and at 18h, the sky is covered with black clouds. The wind blows, but again, nothing unusual for the season. Expected at most to a good storm and life goes on. "But at midnight I was awakened abruptly by a extraordinary sensation: it seemed to me like a boat move. "
" A soon as I opened my eyes as the sound of gusts that blow out quickly give me the key to the phenomenon. The wind was so strong that the house was swinging on its base, giving it a sort of rolling motion. " Léon Rousset described the storm damage noises around him, rage incredible gusts. "At each of its attacks, we heard the creaking of trees were broken, debris or plaster tiles blown off the roof rolled over and went crashing into the street with a loud noise. The house, shaken to its foundations, seemed raised by the storm, want to take off [...]. Finally, the distance came a thumping sound and continuous: it was the roaring of the sea "
Leo Wears Red and stands ready to evacuate the house at the slightest sign of collapse. The hours are long. "I forgot my own concerns to think with anxiety the suffering of the unfortunate who were currently at sea or in harbor." He went into a detailed description of the sinking he imagines. At 2:30, place the most violent gusts, which broke two of the public clock dials and stop the movement. Overcome by fatigue, dark passenger 4am to 7am to emerge into a scene of desolation. "I'll never hear the wind roar without remembering that awful night."
The roads are barely passable on foot, littered with debris of all kinds. And as Leon Rousset approaches the sea, the scene empire. Shipwrecks have been made by the raging sea more than fifty meters into the streets. "The whole shoreline was once lined with a quay wall constructed of large blocks of granite, bound together by iron hooks and resting on a bed of concrete over a meter thick. Behind this wall, there was a broad platform of seven to eight meters high by about a meter and a half meters above sea level, it was called the Praya. It was bordered on the other side houses the ground floor which were arches supported by pillars of masonry such as the Rue de Rivoli [...]. Well! After the typhoon, instead of Praya, we could see more than a sloping beach, littered with huge boulders, transported to the foot of the houses are the remains of the quay wall is currently missing . The waves themselves are coming to beat the house to a height of four feet. " Here and there, the masts of sunken ships still come out of the water, hundreds of junks leak ripped their loads and rare boats, stronger, remain afloat, but in a pitiful state. "On the other side of the Praya, several houses were completely collapsed, burying their inhabitants under the rubble."
"It's a disaster for the colony, and a few days after the disaster," the spectacle of Praya was [more] scary: no one could take two steps without encountering corpses that the sea came to deposit. "The people are immediately put to work to heal the wounds of the city. The French described a sullen population, working "silently to repair the harm." The living room of the teacher ends this tragic episode.
Léon Rousset is a member of the Geographical Society of Paris on his return. He multiplied the conferences and interventions on China, even providing a course on the subject at Free School of Political Science. With his experience and his passion, he advocated a rapprochement between France and China to counter the influence English or Russian. In 1878 she published her book "Through China", a kind of summary of his travels. The influence of the author on his contemporaries was great, and his vision for a lasting mark on China inquiring minds of France, particularly a Jules Verne inspired by his descriptions and quotes in "The tribulations of a Chinese in China "(1879).

Vircondelet Father, 50 years of ministry in Hong Kong

From 1920 to 1970, Father Vircondelet of the Paris Foreign Missions (MEP) has seen Hong Kong evolve and deal with mixed fortunes at the option of a troubled history. His life in service of the Missions is also a life hong kongaise where the priesthood is confused with a passion for flawless British colony.
Vircondelet Leon was born in 1890 in Vesoul. At 18, he entered the seminary of Foreign Missions, but the Great War delayed its ordination. He was mobilized and was awarded the management of a hospital in the Vosges. In 1919, as lieutenant he resumed his place at the seminar. He is then ordained and sent immediately to Canton. The adventure begins Asia: a long journey east of fifty years, with Hong Kong as a point of attachment.

He began including at that time, to build a Chinese school and a hospital (St. Teresa) at the site of a large cotton mill bought by Father Robert.

Leon Vircondelet is both the last Attorney General of Hong Kong MEP, from 1935, and the first Treasurer General, from 1950, the Foreign Missions reorganizing itself after the war about new features.
Formed by Father Robert (the excellent Financial who has done so grow the assets of Hong Kong MEP), Father Vircondelet manages address all matters of money until 1960. Not without difficulty, because the period is much more difficult. Japanese occupation, the rise of communism, a context of insecurity and instability ... so is he who arranges the sale of many properties in Hong Kong government, particularly the Procure in 1953 (now the Court of Final Appeal) and Nazareth in 1954. Choices certainly criticism today, but the context of the period explains.
is especially during the Second World War and the period the Japanese occupation, the Father Vircondelet illustrated. Always reactive, man committed early in favor of Free France without taking up arms. Exchanges between the Embassy of France in Beijing and the general government of Indochina are clear about this, and show that the Japanese complain of "active compromise of several French notables in the direction of the Anglo-Gaullist propaganda Hong Kong. " Father Vircondelet tops the list. The missionary
manages to safeguard the interests of religious, prevents looting (including printing of Nazareth) and helps many French. It seems that it is he who gets certain assets or records of individuals and companies (that is attested for the League of collieries of Tonkin and the Consulate of France). He maintains close friendships with Louis Reynaud, Consul General . A diplomat's death in 1943, Father Vircondelet install even in the consular premises so as to protect them from looting and to perpetuate a symbolic presence.
Many downtown buildings managed by the Missions were destroyed or damaged during the hostilities. The priest began in 1945 to renovate and modernize them. It then organizes celebrations for the centenary noticed the presence of Sisters of St. Paul in 1948. The same year he was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Legion of Honor, for all its actions during the war.
Tired, he resigned in 1960. The Superior General Maurice Quéguiner expresses then, "on behalf of the entire company and on my behalf, the deep and loving appreciation of all, for all services rendered during a lifetime of missionary and singularly as General Treasurer for twenty-five years, with dedication and unfailing generosity. " It
again and again in Hong Kong that the Father Vircondelet chooses to spend an active retirement. There are still ten years. The priest left the British colony in 1970, after fifty years of presence. He retired to a sanatorium Montbeton in France, where he died in November 1973.

Cost For Paper Laminating At Staples

The ordinary life of a small French Hong Kong

Making history of the French community in Hong Kong for 160 years ... it is also interested in those who are there buffeted by parental wanderings. Children do not allow archives and institutions little interest in them. Testimony, both trivial and revealing of an era, can shed light on the daily life of a blonde head catapulted the Far East.
Following the publication of our article on history of the French school in Hong Kong , an email arrived saying essentially, "the little boy in the foreground of the photo ... it's me! . Mathieu Bringer spent four years in Hong Kong from 1980 to 1984. "My father worked for a Dutch company of textiles," he recalls. He led the central purchasing and we traveled a lot, to South Africa in the USA, etc.. Thus accustomed to expatriation, Matthew, his two brothers, sister and their parents, landed in the British colony in 1980. The boy is 7 years old and is enrolled in the French school, then located in the old military hospital in Borrett Road. Begins a new life hectic.
The family moved to Chung Hom Kok, near Repulse Bay. "I came back five years ago, it's crazy as everything has changed ... This is not so far away." And to tell the interminable bus ride to go at school, wasteland now become large properties. "I keep printing more accurate than memories. For example, I played every Saturday morning football on the Peak ... and I like our parties taking place in the mist over half of the year! "Mathieu still evokes typhoons and all taped windows of his house, or discussions of playgrounds on snakes from school: "There was woods all around the facility; obviously we were forbidden to go there ... and we were frightened with snakes that were supposed lapping in the vicinity. " The young man also remembers the Star Ferry trips to go in Judo, "with the strange machine that swallowed the pieces." Over 25 years later, some places are a must for children: "How could I forget Ocean Park! And the floating restaurant in Aberdeen, the rugby sevens tournament ... "
More accurate are the memories of the passage of the training ship of the French Navy, the Jeanne d'Arc . "My uncle was the second of the ship (it is now Vice-Admiral Teule). We had the right to a personal tour, says Matthew Bringer, and we ate in the officers' mess. You can imagine the effect on a kid of eight years! ". Another event remained in memory, an exceptional trip to China. "My parents have taken two years to get the visa. I remember very well tide of bikes and men in uniforms with the hats! ".
's father Mathew has invested in the life of the French community. "It was part of the executive committee of the school when the move to Jardines was being prepared." Bringer The family left Hong Kong before the establishment of effective change, but "my father says there was, for example, a whole debate about air conditioning. Paris refused this arrangement was considered a luxury, says Matthew Bringer. When a delegation from the Paris came to visit to assess the project, the Executive Committee has welcomed in a room without air conditioning! It was hot in high season, it was clammy incredible ... At the end of the meeting, everyone felt that the investment was necessary. "
After four years in Hong Kong, Matthew follows his family Belgium for a more sustainable facility. "I went to school between France and Belgium, said the young man. I trained as an engineer and I went on a PhD in astrophysics. " Asia has remained rooted in the mind of the boy he was. "I did my best to leave. It is no coincidence, then, I became VSN Hanoi! Says Matthew Bringer. It was also a great experience and I took care of scientific cooperation. "And the traveler to continue with a year off with a friend, to half a world tour from Hanoi to Paris on old Russian motorcycles.
"Now I am patent attorney, and in a few weeks I'm off to Shanghai for a new position. "For Matthew, this destination is not insignificant either. "I think my experience Hong Kong was really important analysis that was then a small child of 8 years. It was at an age where we discover our environment more carefully, where it is more receptive ... and I am forever marked by the discovery of Hong Kong! Although they are very diffuse, I have fantastic memories and impressions. "
